Who I Am

| My story may be a lot like yours. When my daughter was born, November 2006, I thought I'd give cloth diapers a try. Being an Advanced Aged Mother with no nieces or nephews, the last cloth diaper I saw was 20 years ago, babysitting in high school. So I went to the local discount super store and bought a pack of Gerber Cloth "Diapers", a pack of pins and some rubber pants. I didn't do anything with them for a week because I was so intimidated by the process.

| I belong to a local Mom's group and when we can't meet up, we share our thoughts on our message boards. I expressed my desire to try it and my anxiety at the thought of it. Luckily, some moms in my group explained to me the changes in cloth diapering in the past 20 years. I immediately started researching online. I learned new terms like All in Ones, Pockets, Aplix, Organic Fleece, Stuffables, Inserts, Wool, Doublers; even Prefolds and Flats were defined for me. Armed with this information I was crushed to find there were no stores within 150 miles of where I lived. So, like many, I ordered a couple online, not knowing what they really looked like, what they felt like or how they worked. I waited and waited for them to show up. Then I ordered a couple more of a different kind and still more. And waited and waited.

| I now have an impressive "stash" of all kinds of diapers that I use in a larger rotation. I love using cloth diapers. But, I spent a lot of money and got a lot of duds in the meantime. It was after the first couple weeks I decided to incorporate cloth diapers into my existing bath, body and home boutique on Hilton Head Island. It took some explaining, but the vendors gave me the opportunity to order some and put them in my store.

| So, I join the many online vendors of cloth diapers. More dear to me, though, is providing an actual store where people, possibly intimidated like I first was, can come and touch the fluff and fall in love as we all have.
